How do I change the colour of my lights?

Find the light you want to change the colour of in the Home Assistant mobile app. Instead of clicking on the light, which toggles it on and off, press and hold it instead. A faint gold circle should appear around your finger, when this happens you can release your finger from the screen. An advanced overview of the light should instantly pop-up, giving you access to all of the different functions your light is capable of.

On & Off Lighting
If your light is only capable of being turned on and off, you will not see any additional control, and will only be greeted with a slider style button.

Dimmable Lighting
If your selected light is dimmable, you will be shown a slider and a power button at the bottom of the slider. The slider can be used to control the brightness of your light, which will change the state of your light instantly in real-time. The power button at the bottom of the slider will toggle the light on and off when pressed.

Colour Temperature Lighting
If your light is capable of changing its colour temperature, you will have access to a colour temperature slider which is similar to the brightness slider. This can be accessed by selecting the colour temperature wheel icon at the bottom of the brightness slider. The colour temperature slider is adjusted in the same way as the brightness slider, which will change the state of your light instantly in real-time. The closer the slider is to the top the warmer the light colour temperature will be, and as it moves towards the bottom the colour temperature will get colder.

Full Colour Lighting
For lights that are capable of producing the full range of colours, you will have access to everything that is mentioned above with the addition of a colour wheel. This can be accessed by selecting the colour wheel icon at the bottom of the brightness slider. From here you can select any colour you want from the wheel by touching it, or dragging your finger across the screen, which will change the state of your light instantly in real-time.
